Teacher's office of Ramon Torres Louisiana National High School
The overseas expedition project aims to foster the passion to contribute to society and to encourage the taking up of pro-active roles in community service projects, both within the team as well as in the youths of Bago City. We will be working closely with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in The Philippines, called Today’s Responsive Youth (TRY), which aims to positively empower as many youths as possible in the City of Bago, so as to develop them into productive, responsive, self-reliant, competent and compassionate individuals of tomorrow.
Our main aim is to raise a total of S$14,000 for the construction of a library, which is very much needed, for Ramon Torres Louisiana National High School in Bago City, The Philippines. This will be achieved through both kind sponsorships and a wide variety of fund-raising events organised in NUS itself.
Together with the local students, BHBH5 members will be there in December to work on refurbishment of the library such as painting, setting up of décor and arrangement of furniture. This will certainly provide us with an opportunity to interact with the local students.
